Ginger Body Scrub… by Origins

I’ve tried a handful of body scrubs in the past that have always managed to tear my skin a new one, so I was extremely hesitant to try anymore. However, I’ve read some very interesting/inspiring reviews about this product and thought I would give it one more try.

After all, I am a go-getter… so I went and got – this product :)

Now, you have to remember that my skin is fairly sensitive and reacts within seconds to anything that comes its way. So as I was applying this scrub (while in the shower) it took maybe two seconds before I felt the sting, it’s as if I had cuts all over my body and I was rubbing salt in them – note: this product does contain Dead Sea Salts – however, I did not have any cuts on my body. I would seriously suggest not using this scrub if you have broken skin or have recently shaven. Also, your tub/shower floor may become slippery, so be careful.

Having said that, this scrub is actually not that bad, the sting dissipates within seconds, but the lovely citrus-y ginger scent stays with you. The results of my experiment: even-tone, smooth, and surprisingly moisturized skin. I believe this is from the mixture of oils that can be found in this product. In fact, when you open the jar you will notice a small puddle of oil sitting on top of the salt – blend with fingertips before applying.

Otherwise I really took a liking to this body scrub. I only use it once a week, but I can definitely notice a difference and I like what I see.

You can purchase this product at the following websites:,,,…etc. It comes in a 21.2  oz. / 600 g hard plastic jar and retails for $33.00.

    • Thanks for visiting :)

I actually didn’t make this scrub myself, I purchased it from – Origins. It’s a natural skin care line, you can check out their website, they have quite a variety of products.

But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make my own concoction, thanks for the idea :)
